Christopher Barbarie is a PhD student in the Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering department at the University of Colorado Boulder. As a member of the HI SNR lab, he is developing radar systems and inversion algorithms to determine material and roughness conditions at the base of ice sheets. He earned his B.Sc in Physics with a minor in Computer Science at McGill University. Previously, Christopher conducted undergraduate radio astronomy research in the Canadian High Arctic where he developed and deployed radio frequency instrumentation. As an undergraduate, he also conducted research on determining sea level changes using GNSS receivers. His research interests lie at the intersection of radar engineering and glaciology. In his free time, Christopher enjoys hiking, bouldering, reading, and watching sports.
